Hello, my name is Tony Phoenix-Morrison and I’m running the 2011 Bupa Great North Run with a 40kg fridge on my back!
I have worked within the footbaling community of my local area for over 20 years and during this time I have seen the great things carried by the South Tyneside Football Trust. The trust is managed by a great man called Alan Milward and a handful of volunteers.
For the past ten years the trust has positively affected the lives of thousands, upon thousands of families and children both Disabled and Abled-bodied as it facilities football for around about 1500 children per week from a variety of backgrounds and abilities, and gives them the opportunity to play football.
Alan and his volunteers work tirelessly to ensure their great work can carry on but like every charity at the moment they have struggled with donations that are the life blood for them to carry on!
I started training for this feat over 12 months ago running short distances with a weighted back pack, building up the distance ran gradually. I just hope that I’m now ready to complete the 13.1 miles on Sunday the 18th september 2011 at The Great North Run!
